Rancho Viejo Golf - El Diablo

Golf became the main activity at Rancho Viejo when the El Diablo course was placed amid endless citrus orchards. Now manicured fairways lined with towering palms, and topical vegetation are disturbed only by the well placed bunkers, undulating greens and strategically placed water and sand hazards. The par three 16th hole (224 yards from the back tees) is typical of Diablo. With a shot into the prevailing breezes, the golfer must carry 120 yards of water (what was once part of the Rio Grande River) to a large green protected by bunkers, left and right. There is, however, safety for the cautious player. A drive across the water and short of the green, with a chip and a putt will secure a par. Its no wonder that in February of 1998, the Dallas Morning News referred to El Diablo as "One of Texas' Top Ten Resort Golf Courses."

Depending on the time of year, green fees, for resort and member's guests, range from $37.00 to $62.00. Unlike the more crowded golfing destinations, there are plenty of available tee times. You won't feel rushed at Rancho Viejo!

We do enforce a dress code on our courses. Appropriate golf attire, such as collared golf shirts (tucked in), long slacks, or Bermuda length shorts (or skirts for the ladies), and regulation golf shoes is expected at all times. Examples of inappropriate attire include tank tops, screen-printed shirts, halter tops, cut-offs, gym or jogging shorts, short shorts, and swimwear.

Golfers may walk on the course after 4:00 P.M. daily; otherwise golf carts are mandatory.

Round play on our two courses alternate daily.
